Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a reservation?
Call me to discuss the type of hike and dates you would like to reserve. You may request reservations for an interpretive hike by choosing a location and your choice of two, four or six hour duration, and number of participants. A minimum of three participants are needed for each hike. Both individual and group retreats are available. You will use paypal to pay for your trip after we discuss the dates.
What should I bring or wear on a hike?
You should bring layered clothing both for warmth and to prevent sunburn. Depending upon the season, you will find our weather is variable. Spring and winter are windy, especially along the coast of northern California. Summer on the coast may be foggy, while inland it may be sunny and hot with highs in the 90s. In the winter winds may pick up in the afternoon, making it cooler than expected. Thus the weather is unpredictable. Please bring your own Poison Oak treatment or soap.
We recommend wearing pants, hiking shoes that have vibram soles, a jacket or sweater, windbreaker, and hat, and a long sleeved shirt and sunscreen for skin protection. Other items that are necessary to bring include a backpack, two bottles of water, lunch, snacks, and any medication necessary that you may need.
Will the hike still be held if it rains?
The hike will typically be held rain or shine. However, if we decide poor weather warrants canceling the hike, we will reschedule it for a time convenient for you, or provide a refund of deposit.
What is the level of fitness required for your hikes?
The majority of the hikes are easy to moderate in difficulty. With your desires in mind we will help you design a hike to fit your needs. The Guerneville location has a drive in route that is even accessible for handicapped people.
